Monaleen GAA Tennis Club AGM 2023

Monaleen GAA Tennis Club invites all members to attend our AGM on Wednesday 31st January 2024 at 8pm in clubhouse.

All members are welcome, so please come along and hear all about the exciting developments planned for 2024.

  • Sub-Committee Vacancies exist and we are asking for volunteers to put their name forward to help out in any way then can, especially in the following areas
  • Juniors – our ask is to get parents involved with the running of activities for juniors within the club and work with our Head Coach CJ Kelly to develop the juniors programme for the year.
  • Communications - to send out monthly comms update to all members on the club activities and developments
  • Social Events – to help organise more social events in club
  • Competition – to help organise our more club competitions, monthly ladder, run our first club Open during 2024 and support our winter league / summer cup teams

 

5. Motions for consideration:

a) Increase in Annual Membership to €70 for juniors, €170 for adult membership, €270 for family membership and €120 for 3rd Level Student membership.  Effective from 1st May 2024.  Considerations behind this increase are as follows:

  • Increased energy costs for Lights costing up to €3,000 plus per annum
  • Dressing rooms and toilets development, fit-out and annual cleaning fees
  • Increased contribution to Monaleen GAA for use of facilities
  • Increased court maintenance labour costs
  • Increased Tennis Ireland affiliation fees

b) Re-open membership from April 1st 2024 to take in new members to replace existing members who won’t renew their membership for the coming year. 

c) 30th birthday of Monaleen GAA Tennis Club is in 2024, as club was founded in 1994

  1. The club should run a Tennis Open competition. There may be a requirement to limit it to invitees, to singles or doubles due to court availability and consideration of court availability for members.  Organising committee required.
  2. Hold a social dinner dance event in Q4 2024 – Organising committee required.
